Fishing Day Fly Fishing Or Spinning In The Limay River

Duración: 8 Horas

Reserve a private fishing day featuring fly fishing and spinning, led by the top local guides who will take you on a Float with Wading experience on the Limay River. This excursion accommodates up to two anglers in a cata-raft, a boat specifically designed for navigating mountain rivers, which also performs exceptionally well in lakes where motor boats are prohibited. On the Limay River, we will float approximately 12 km, fishing from the boat and stopping to wade in the prime fishing spots, which are often out of reach for most anglers. At midday, enjoy a delightful lunch prepared and served by the river.
In the afternoon, we will continue floating and fishing until we reach the river exit, where our team will be waiting with the vehicle(s) and trailers, ready to transport you back to your hotel or accommodation.
We supply all the necessary gear for the activity: waders, footwear, rods, reels, lines, flies or lures, etc.

Descripción del Tour:

In the morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel to journey to the Limay River. This magnificent river winds through the Patagonian steppe, a breathtaking area within the National Park, renowned for its stunning landscapes and pleasant climate. The clear waters, remarkable scenery, and exceptional fishing opportunities make floating on the Limay River an experience you won't soon forget. As the most significant river in the National Park, it offers diverse fishing options for both novice and seasoned anglers. It is home to Rainbow and Brown trout as well as Patagonian Perch.
The Limay River is ideal for dry fly fishing from November to March. In April, large trout migrate from the expansive lake to the river to begin their breeding cycle. The Limay features five distinct sections, each around 12 km long, near San Carlos de Bariloche, providing a variety of excursions.
Upon arriving at the embarkation point on the Limay River, your guide will introduce you to two fishing techniques available for the excursion:
  • Fly Fishing: This involves casting flies—hooks "dressed" to mimic insects, small fish, shrimp, etc., using a specially weighted line designed for this purpose, employing a precise technique. This method requires practice and dedication to master the casting, yet it is gaining popularity worldwide.
  • Spinning: This technique involves casting and retrieving artificial lures like spoons, simulating the movement of a small organism in the water, enticing the voracious trout to strike if successfully fooled.
The excursion will then commence, with you sailing on the Limay River and fishing using your chosen technique.
After two hours of fishing from the boat, you'll reach the riverside to savor a delightful lunch amidst nature. Following a break, you'll continue floating and fishing in the afternoon at the top spots the Limay River has to offer.
Accompanied by your guide, you'll learn about the history of the San Carlos de Bariloche region and the prime fishing locations and fish species native to the area.
After traversing 12 km throughout the day, your guide will return you to the river's starting point, where vehicles will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.
Fishing Season
The fishing season begins annually on November 1 and concludes within the Nahuel Huapi National Park, North Patagonia. However, for off-season fishing, lakes Nahuel Huapi, Gutierrez, and Mascardi are open throughout May and October. Lake Moreno permits fishing in all three modes year-round, making it a favored spot for winter fishing.
