Descripción del Tour:

In the morning, your expert guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to your chosen destination: Rio Manso, Lake Hess, or Lake Los Moscos.
Rio Manso winds through the Andean valleys, framed by lush forests and towering mountains. This river connects the Mascardi, Los Moscos, La Medialuna, Hess, and Steffen lakes. It offers a great opportunity to catch rainbow, brown, and brook trout. Located 65 km from Bariloche, it's a prime fishing spot.
Lake Hess is a stunning location where only rowboat fishing is permitted. Its shores are rich with vegetation, providing a habitat for nesting aquatic birds. This lake is ideal for fishing with large dry flies, and if you're fortunate, a dragonfly hatch can make the experience unforgettable, as large trout leap out of the water to catch them. Lake Hess is situated 60 km from Bariloche.
Lake Los Moscos is a small lake approximately 4 km in diameter, with the Manso River flowing through it from east to west. This lake allows for fishing across its expanse and about three km of the Manso River to the west, using only rowboats. Brown, rainbow, and brook trout can all be found here.
All three locations are nestled in a spectacular area of the National Park, offering breathtaking landscapes and a pleasant climate.
Upon reaching the boarding point, your guide will introduce you to the fishing techniques recommended for this excursion:
  • Fly Fishing: Involves casting flies—“dressed” hooks that mimic insects, small fish, shrimp, etc.—using a weighted line crafted for this purpose, employing a precise technique. This method requires practice and dedication to master casting. However, it is gaining popularity worldwide.
  • Spinning: This method involves casting and retrieving artificial lures like spoons, mimicking the movement of small organisms in the water, which attract the attention of trout. Spinning is allowed in all lakes and certain river sections, and can be done from the shore or from boats, whether rowboats or motorboats. We recommend using ultra-light equipment and simple barbless hooks.
  • Trolling: Nahuel Huapi National Park boasts numerous idyllic lakes for this type of fishing. By dragging artificial lures at a slow pace from a motorboat, you can enjoy the stunning landscapes.
The adventure then begins as you set sail on the Manso River, Hess Lake, or Los Moscos Lake, fishing using your chosen technique.
After two hours of boat fishing, you'll reach the river or lake's edge to relish a delightful lunch amidst nature. Following a break, you'll continue floating and fishing in the best spots the Manso River or the Lakes have to offer throughout the afternoon.
Accompanied by your guide, you'll learn about the history of the San Carlos de Bariloche region and discover the best fishing spots and fish species native to the area.
After covering 12 km during the day, your guide will lead you to the exit point of the River or the Lakes, where cars will be waiting to return you to your hotel.
Fishing Season
The fishing season within the Nahuel Huapi National Park in Northern Patagonia runs annually from November 1st to April 30th. However, for off-season fishing, Lakes Nahuel Huapi, Gutierrez, and Mascardi are accessible throughout May and October. Lake Moreno welcomes all three fishing styles year-round, making it a winter fishing haven.
