Descripción del Tour:

Your guide will collect you from your hotel in Bariloche, setting off towards the Limay River. As the most significant river within the National Park, its vast waters emerge from the eastern edge of the immense Nahuel Huapi, approximately 17 km (11 miles) from the city. The river meanders through arid, rocky mesas adorned with pine forests, presenting breathtaking landscapes and delightful weather. It is largely inhabited by rainbow and brown trout, alongside some Patagonian perch, making it a paradise for anglers. From November through March, the opportunities for dry fly fishing are abundant, and in April, the final month of the season, large trout make their way from the lake to the river. The river offers five distinct sections, each stretching about 10 miles. The crystal-clear waters, stunning views, and excellent fishing conditions make this floating trip an unforgettable experience.
Upon arriving at the Limay River boarding point, your guide will detail the fishing techniques available for the excursion:
  • Fly-fishing: This involves using a special weighted line and “dressed” hooks that mimic insects, minnows, and shrimp, cast with various techniques. Although it requires practice and patience to master a good cast, fly-fishing has long been a global favorite, attracting numerous seasoned anglers to Patagonia annually, as well as newcomers eager to refine their skills in these untouched fishing locales.
  • Spinning: This method involves casting artificial lures, such as spoons or spinners, using suitable rods and reels, whether from the shore or boats. We recommend ultra-light gear and lures with single, barbless hooks when possible.
Next, you embark on your floating journey, navigating the Limay River and fishing at the best spots it has to offer.
With your guide's company, you will also delve into the history of the Bariloche region, explore top fishing options, and learn about the local wildlife.
After a fulfilling morning or afternoon of drifting and fishing, you will reach the shore, where our staff will be ready to transport you back to your hotel.
